The HSE Engineer – Site supports the implementation of health, safety and environmental requirements on construction projects in Dubai. The role helps prevent incidents by monitoring site activities, advising project teams, checking compliance and promoting safe working practices. It works with supervisors, contractors and employees to maintain a consistent safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor site activities and check compliance with approved HSE plans and applicable regulations.
- Carry out site inspections, identify unsafe conditions and follow up corrective actions.
- Support risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work procedures and toolbox talks.
- Advise supervisors and workers on safe systems of work and required protective equipment.
- Record incidents, near misses, observations and inspection findings and support investigations.
- Prepare HSE reports and coordinate with contractors and project management on improvement actions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A relevant engineering, occupational safety or HSE qualification is appropriate for the role.
- Experience supporting HSE activities on construction sites is valuable.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, incident reporting and construction safety procedures is important.
- The candidate should be comfortable communicating safety requirements to workers and supervisors.
- Good observation, documentation and problem-solving skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The position calls for practical site awareness, clear communication and a proactive approach to hazard prevention. The engineer should be confident identifying unsafe conditions, explaining controls and following corrective actions through. Organisation, reporting and the ability to work with diverse site teams are essential.
