Application Engineer (Mechanical Engineering, Composites)

NOV is hiring an Application Engineer in Dubai to provide technical application and bid support for its composite and fiberglass piping solutions. The role works closely with Sales and Proposals teams to ensure products are selected, designed and offered within applicable engineering, performance, code and operational requirements. The engineer will combine mechanical engineering knowledge with application experience, technical calculations and customer-facing support to help develop practical and commercially viable solutions for international projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements, RFQs and technical specifications and recommend compliant product solutions.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Proposals teams during bids and commercial development.
• Perform hydraulic analysis, pipe sizing, design verification and related engineering calculations.
• Review technical requirements against applicable codes, standards and product capabilities.
• Prepare technical tender packages, clarifications, deviations and supporting documentation.
• Support technical presentations, customer meetings, training and site visits when required.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and QC teams to ensure bid-stage commitments can be executed operationally.
• Develop and maintain product technical literature, procedures and SOPs.
• Assist with technical problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience, preferably on international projects.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and knowledge of composite or fiberglass piping systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic analysis and engineering calculations.
• Piping stress analysis, technical bid, QC/testing and customer-facing experience are advantageous.
• Strong communication, presentation and coordination skills.
