Job Overview
The role protects the reliability and usability of banking systems by planning and executing tests, documenting defects and confirming that fixes work as expected. Depending on the team, the work may cover digital channels, APIs, transaction flows, integrations and core banking applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and convert them into test scenarios, cases and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Run functional, integration, regression and end-to-end tests based on system risk and release scope.
- Record defects with clear steps, evidence, expected results and actual results, and follow them through resolution.
- Validate critical customer and banking journeys, including transaction exceptions and reconciliation outcomes where relevant.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations and business stakeholders on test readiness and release decisions.
- Improve reusable test assets, reporting, automation coverage and the consistency of quality practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Practical experience in software testing, quality assurance or quality engineering is relevant; lead positions require stronger planning and coordination ability.
- Understanding of software delivery, APIs, integrations, test design, defect lifecycle and regression management is useful.
- For automation-focused responsibilities, experience with test frameworks, scripting and CI/CD quality gates is valuable.
