Main Purpose of the Role

To deliver patient-focused, evidence-based specialist-level medical care in accordance with ethical guidelines, professional standards, and UAE regulatory requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement in clinical quality, safety, and development.

Key Responsibility Areas

Clinical Service Delivery
  • Provide professional, ethical, and comprehensive clinical services to patients in an effective and timely manner
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment across diagnostics, treatment, and patient management within the specialty
Risk Management and Safety
  • Monitor and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and participate in incident reporting and resolution
Governance and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance structures, UAE healthcare legislation, and quality management systems
  • Engage in periodic reviews, audits, and accreditation-related processes
Medical Documentation
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards
  • Ensure timely documentation of consultations, care plans, procedures, and patient communications
Continuous Professional Development
  • Stay current with medical advancements and pursue specialty-relevant learning opportunities
  • Support the development of junior staff through clinical supervision and mentorship
Ethical and Professional Conduct
  • Execute all clinical duties with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and patient-centered practice environment

Education Requirements

  • Basic Medical Degree recognized by the UAE healthcare authority
  • Completion of a specialty qualification or education programme (fellowship/diploma) approved by UAE regulatory bodies
  • Certification and registration in a recognized specialty with the relevant UAE healthcare authority
  • Active and valid life support certification (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
  • Desired: Additional specialty-specific credentials

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience at the Specialist level
  • Desired: Minimum 1 year of Specialist-level experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
  • Familiarity with clinical audit standards and healthcare quality improvement practices
  • Ability to supervise clinical clerkship and support the development of junior medical personnel
  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
  • Strong ethical standards and decision-making capabilities
