Description
Main Purpose of the Role
To deliver patient-centered, evidence-based consultant-level care in alignment with ethical standards, clinical governance, and regulatory requirements. This role upholds excellence in medical practice and contributes actively to the development of the medical team.Key Responsibility Areas
Clinical Care- Provide comprehensive, professional, and ethical clinical services efficiently and effectively
- Ensure high-quality care across diagnosis, treatment planning, and management within the specialty
- Monitor, identify, and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care
- Follow risk mitigation protocols and contribute to the enhancement of patient safety initiatives
- Maintain compliance with clinical governance frameworks and quality standards established by the organization and regulatory bodies
- Participate in internal audits, quality reviews, and accreditation processes
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic medical records in accordance with institutional and legal standards
- Engage in continuous professional development activities
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and medical students through clinical clerkship programs
- Deliver care responsibly and ethically while respecting patient confidentiality and professional integrity
- Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and transparency in clinical services
Education Requirements
- Basic Medical Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the UAE healthcare authority
- Completion of a recognized higher education program (fellowship/diploma) in a certified medical specialty
- Certification and registration in a medical specialty recognized by the UAE regulatory authority
- Active and valid life support certification (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
- Desired: Specialty-specific advanced certification or training
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience at Consultant level
- Desired: At least 1 year of Consultant-level experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to support and supervise clinical training for junior staff and students
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of clinical audit processes and healthcare quality improvement frameworks
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
- Arabic language proficiency is advantageous
