Description
Main Purpose of the Role
To provide patient-centered, evidence-based consultant-level medical care in accordance with ethical guidelines and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and the organization.Key Responsibilities
Clinical Service Delivery- Deliver high-quality, professional, and ethical clinical services to patients with efficiency and compassion
- Ensure comprehensive diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management in line with best practices
- Identify, monitor, and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care
- Implement and adhere to safety standards, incident reporting, and mitigation measures
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, national healthcare regulations, and internal quality protocols
- Participate in performance reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in accordance with legal and organizational standards
- Ensure clear documentation of diagnosis, treatments, care plans, and patient communications
- Pursue ongoing professional development and remain current with advancements in the field
- Facilitate clinical clerkship and mentor medical students and junior colleagues
- Uphold integrity in medical practice, maintaining ethical standards across all patient interactions
- Promote a culture of accountability, respect, and transparency in clinical decision-making
Education Requirements
- Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
- Completion of fellowship or higher education program recognized by the UAE healthcare authority
- Certification and registration in a medical specialty approved by the UAE regulatory authority
- Active and valid life support certification (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
- Desired: Specialty-specific advanced certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience at Consultant level
- Desired: At least 1 year of Consultant-level experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Ability to support and supervise clinical training for junior doctors and medical students
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Familiarity with clinical audit standards and quality assurance processes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is an advantage
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership abilities, and collaborative mindset
