Main Purpose of the Role

Deliver patient-centric and evidence-based consultant-level medical care in accordance with ethical standards, clinical governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Ensure quality, integrity, and professionalism across all patient interactions while fostering clinical excellence and continuous development.

Key Responsibility Areas

Clinical Service Delivery
  • Provide high-quality, ethical, and effective medical services across the full spectrum of patient care within the specialty
  • Manage diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care aligned with best practice guidelines
Risk and Safety Management
  • Identify, monitor, and address clinical risks associated with direct patient care
  • Comply with institutional safety protocols and incident reporting procedures
Governance and Quality Standards
  • Uphold standards for clinical governance, accreditation, and quality improvement
  • Participate in audits, peer reviews, and performance evaluations
Medical Documentation
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic medical records
  • Ensure documentation aligns with legal standards and patient confidentiality policies
Professional Development and Mentorship
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and development
  • Support clerkship training for medical students and junior colleagues
  • Foster a collaborative learning environment
Ethical and Responsible Practice
  • Execute clinical duties with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to patient-centric values
  • Promote responsible care, informed decision-making, and transparent communication

Required Education

  • Basic Medical Degree recognized by the UAE healthcare authority
  • Completion of a recognized higher education program (fellowship/diploma)
  • Certification and registration in a specialty approved by UAE regulators
  • Active life support certification (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
  • Desired: Specialty-specific credentials or advanced certification

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-qualification experience at Consultant level
  • Desired: At least 1 year Consultant-level experience from a Tier 1 country (as defined by UAE healthcare regulator)

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior clinicians and students
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of clinical audit practices and governance procedures
  • Fluency in verbal and written English; Arabic language skills are a plus
