Assistant Nurse – OPD Opthalmology

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide and coordinate patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and professional guidelines established by regulatory authorities and the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibility Areas

Clinical Care Delivery

• Deliver safe and quality patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Perform nursing tasks in accordance with clinical protocols and legal standards

Patient Safety & Risk Management

• Identify, prevent, and manage clinical risks in line with MCME policies and relevant healthcare legislation
• Contribute to a culture of safety and uphold infection control protocols

Patient Experience

• Create a supportive and healing environment guided by nursing leadership
• Ensure patients and families feel heard, respected, and informed

Learning & Development Support

• Promote a learning culture within the unit by mentoring and supporting colleagues
• Participate in in-service education and clinical development activities

Education Requirements

• Essential: Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution

Experience Requirements

• Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing in own country
• Desired: Prior nursing experience within the UAE healthcare system

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Basic proficiency in Arabic language (spoken)
• Comprehensive understanding of patient safety standards and protocols
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to follow established care procedures and documentation standards
• Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
