Manager Shari’ah Compliance (UAE National)

Provide Shari’ah compliance oversight for Islamic banking activities, supporting governance, product review, controls and adherence to approved Shari’ah principles. This position is suited to a professional who can combine sound judgement, customer or stakeholder focus and disciplined execution in a regulated banking environment.

Role Context

Key Responsibilities

• Review Islamic banking products, transactions, agreements and processes for Shari’ah compliance.
• Support implementation and monitoring of Shari’ah governance policies, standards and controls.
• Coordinate with business, product, legal, risk and operations teams on Shari’ah-related matters.
• Identify potential compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions or escalation where required.
• Prepare reports, review materials and documentation for relevant governance forums.
• Support Shari’ah audits, reviews, awareness activities and follow-up of agreed actions.
• Keep abreast of developments in Islamic finance and relevant regulatory or Shari’ah standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Islamic finance, Shari’ah, law, finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in Shari’ah compliance, Islamic banking or financial-services governance.
• Strong knowledge of Islamic finance principles and Shari’ah governance practices.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
