Description

The Manager develops and manages a competitive freight-partner network for air, sea and road shipments across GCC markets, with major sourcing lanes from the Far East and Indian subcontinent. The role balances freight cost, transit time, reliability and compliance. Working with commercial, operations and customer-service teams, the manager improves service quality, shipment visibility and customer experience while managing vendor performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop freight strategies and capacity plans for air, sea and road transport across GCC markets and key international trade lanes.
  • Maintain relationships with airlines, shipping lines, transporters, consolidators and freight partners, using structured tenders and negotiations to secure competitive terms.
  • Prepare RFQs and proposals, negotiate rates, contracts, space commitments and service-level agreements, and build differentiated transport solutions.
  • Monitor shipment performance, carrier service levels, market pricing and competitor activity; resolve operational escalations with relevant teams.
  • Ensure customs and freight-documentation compliance, present customer solution workshops and prepare monthly business reviews and management reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Have a relevant bachelor’s degree and eight to ten years of freight-forwarding experience.
  • Understand UAE and GCC freight-market dynamics, carrier procurement, pricing management and contract negotiations.
  • Know customs procedures, shipping documentation, shipment tracking and freight-management systems.
  • Use data and market intelligence to assess service reliability, capacity, cost and commercial opportunities.
