Description

Manage the technical condition, reliability and operational readiness of assigned MCV vessels. This position carries responsibility for maintenance planning, classification status, technical budgets, equipment performance, repairs, dockings and third-party equipment installations. The superintendent works closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, operations, procurement, customers, yards and service providers to keep vessels safe, compliant and commercially available while controlling technical costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned vessels in technically sound and operational condition in line with management agreements and company standards.
  • Monitor classification status, surveys, statutory requirements and monthly vessel technical reporting.
  • Review planned preventive maintenance and ensure the onboard system is used effectively.
  • Oversee anchor-handling machinery, winches, cranes and other fixed vessel equipment.
  • Coordinate installation and certification of temporary or third-party equipment such as ROV and diving systems.
  • Plan and supervise repairs, service work and docking activities within approved budgets.
  • Source technical supplies and coordinate procurement to obtain reliable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with Masters, Chief Engineers, customers, yards, contractors and technical service providers.
  • Support tender preparation, yard selection, cost estimates and technical evaluations.
  • Maintain technical records, drawings, manuals and systems while applying IMCA and recognized industry practices.

Requirements

  • Unlimited STCW Chief Engineer license for motor sea-going vessels or an engineering degree/diploma in mechanical or electromechanical engineering.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant shore experience or equivalent Chief Engineer sea-going experience.
  • Experience with AHTS, offshore supply, offshore tug, dive support, PSV or construction vessels is preferred.
  • DP vessel experience is advantageous, with strong knowledge of PMS and maritime compliance.
  • Good MS Office, MS Project, CAD, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
