Description
The Global Vice President of Trade Lane Strategy and Development shapes the strategy and commercial performance of international trade lanes across DP World’s logistics network. The role connects origin and destination markets and aligns regional commercial teams, operations, procurement and product functions around shared growth priorities. It focuses on volume, gross profit, pipeline conversion, capacity and investment decisions, while establishing clear governance and performance measures for trade lanes. The vice president also develops a global management approach that supports consistent planning and execution across air and ocean freight markets. Strong commercial leadership and detailed understanding of global logistics are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop global trade-lane strategies that connect origin and destination markets and align commercial and operational priorities.
- Lead planning for volumes, gross profit, pipeline conversion, capacity, pricing and investment across priority trade corridors.
- Build a consistent trade-lane operating model with clear governance, ownership, performance measures and review routines.
- Coordinate with regional leadership, commercial teams, operations, procurement and product functions to execute growth plans.
- Analyse market conditions, carrier capacity, customer demand and trade flows to identify opportunities and performance gaps.
- Set targets and monitor KPIs, financial outcomes and execution against agreed business plans.
- Engage senior stakeholders and develop a global management community to share market insight and improve trade-lane performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics or a related discipline; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is beneficial.
- At least fifteen years of senior experience in international freight forwarding, logistics or a global network business.
- Demonstrated experience in trade-lane management, commercial leadership, product strategy or carrier procurement.
- Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight, pricing, capacity management and international logistics markets.
- Experience setting targets, managing financial performance and influencing senior stakeholders across regions.
