Description
The Mechanical Engineer supports the operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical infrastructure systems in Dubai. The listed work focuses on plumbing and drainage pump stations, HDPE pipelines, valves and related industrial equipment. The role requires practical knowledge of mechanical assets, an ability to diagnose faults and a disciplined approach to maintenance planning and safe repair work.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operation, routine servicing and repair of sewage, stormwater and drainage pumping stations.
- Manage installation, repair and modification of HDPE pipelines, including electrofusion and butt-fusion activities.
- Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot industrial valves and flow-control equipment.
- Investigate equipment breakdowns, identify root causes and coordinate corrective repairs or component replacement.
- Maintain rotating and static equipment such as pumps and related infrastructure assets.
- Schedule work orders through a CMMS and monitor spare-parts availability for critical equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Hold a valid UAE driving licence.
- Be familiar with NFPA requirements, particularly NFPA 20, 13 and 24, together with local plumbing and safety codes.
- Be able to plan maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and coordinate safely with technicians and suppliers.
Skills and Competencies
The role calls for mechanical troubleshooting, pump-station operations, pipeline installation knowledge, valve maintenance and preventive-maintenance planning. Familiarity with CMMS work orders, spare-parts control and safety requirements is important. The engineer should be practical, methodical and able to respond calmly to urgent equipment issues.
