Description
The Electrical Inspector – Site monitors electrical installations on construction projects in Dubai and checks that work is safe, properly completed and consistent with approved design information. The inspector works with contractors, consultants and site teams to review installation quality, witness inspections and testing, and report items that require correction before acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical installations, equipment and related work against approved drawings and specifications.
- Check installation methods, materials, workmanship and compliance with relevant codes and authority requirements.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities and review associated test records.
- Raise inspection comments or non-conformance reports and follow up corrective actions.
- Coordinate inspection requests with contractors, consultants and project management teams.
- Prepare clear site reports and maintain records of approvals, tests and outstanding observations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A relevant electrical engineering or electrical trade qualification is suitable for this site inspection role.
- Experience inspecting electrical works on construction projects is beneficial.
- The candidate should be able to read electrical drawings, specifications and testing documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical safety, quality procedures and UAE regulations is important.
- Good communication, reporting and problem-solving skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The inspector should be precise, independent and consistent when checking installation quality. Practical knowledge of electrical systems, inspection procedures, testing and site documentation is valuable. The role also requires professional communication and the ability to identify risks early and follow corrective actions through to closure.
