Description
NOV is looking for an Application Engineer to provide technical bid support for composite and fiberglass piping products. The position helps ensure that product choices meet customer specifications, engineering principles, applicable codes and practical operating requirements. Working with sales, proposals, operations and quality teams, the engineer turns project requirements into solutions that can be safely and effectively manufactured and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer enquiries and requests for quotation, identify technical requirements and recommend compliant product configurations.
- Work with sales and proposal teams to resolve engineering questions and prepare technical tender packages, clarifications and deviations.
- Perform engineering calculations covering pipe properties, hydraulic analysis, sizing, design verification and stress analysis as applicable.
- Check technical commitments made during bidding for operational feasibility and alignment with product specifications.
- Provide guidance on relevant codes, standards and selection of composite piping systems.
- Support technical presentations, customer visits and training for colleagues, distributors and customers.
- Develop product literature, standard operating procedures and technical documentation in coordination with quality and manufacturing.
- Visit project sites when required to help address technical issues and maintain customer relationships.
Requirements and Qualifications
A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with five or more years of engineering experience involving international projects. Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and knowledge of fiberglass composite piping systems are highly desirable. Practical experience with hydraulic calculations and engineering verification is important. Technical bids, piping stress analysis, product testing, quality-control activities or customer-facing engineering support are advantageous.
