EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANNER

Support emergency response coordinators in implementing preparedness systems and response strategies for offshore assets and operators. The role strengthens readiness by turning lessons from drills and incidents, together with recognized practices, into clear plans, procedures and continuous improvements.

The role requires collaboration across relevant teams, accurate documentation and early escalation of risks that may affect safety, quality or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain emergency response plans, procedures and associated preparedness documents.
• Support risk reviews and credible scenario planning for offshore oil and gas operations.
• Coordinate drills and exercises and record lessons, follow-up actions and improvement opportunities.
• Apply Incident Command System principles to response planning, coordination and communication.
• Work with operations and safety stakeholders to ensure response resources and procedures remain effective.

Requirements and Experience

• At least ten years of experience in emergency response and/or safety is required.
• Broad knowledge of offshore oil and gas safety, offshore site operations and Incident Command System practices is expected.
• Experience developing policies and procedures is required; recognized emergency, spill-response, HSE or crisis-management training is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent; ICS 300, IMO Oil Spill Response, NEBOSH or crisis-management credentials preferred
