Description
The Senior ELV Engineer supervises extra-low-voltage systems during construction in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that systems are installed in line with approved design, project specifications, authority requirements and recognised industry practices. It involves technical reviews, contractor coordination, site inspections, testing and commissioning support across the ELV scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Review ELV drawings, specifications, material submittals and contractor method statements.
- Coordinate installation of systems such as structured cabling, CCTV, access control, intercom and related low-voltage services.
- Resolve coordination issues with electrical, ICT, architectural, security and other project disciplines.
- Inspect site installations and verify routing, containment, equipment locations and workmanship.
- Support testing, commissioning, integrated system checks and handover documentation.
- Track technical comments, non-conformances and approvals, and provide progress updates to project leaders.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related engineering discipline is relevant.
- Substantial experience delivering ELV systems on building or infrastructure projects is expected for a senior position.
- Knowledge of ELV design, installation, testing and commissioning is important.
- The candidate should be familiar with project specifications and authority approval processes.
- Strong technical coordination, reporting and team leadership skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The role calls for sound knowledge of ELV systems, design interpretation, technical submittals and site execution. The engineer should be able to coordinate multiple trades, resolve technical conflicts and maintain a clear record of project decisions. A methodical approach to quality, safety and commissioning will be important.
