Post-Award Senior Specialist

Job Overview

The Post-Award Senior Specialist manages post-award activities within Khalifa University's Research Services Department for an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts. The role supports faculty with financial administration, sponsor compliance, reporting, project changes, account management and close-out activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-award financial and administrative support to faculty and research teams.
• Reconcile project accounts and monitor spending, commitments and budget variances.
• Coordinate account and fund-center setup and close-out activities.
• Prepare sponsor financial reports in accordance with award terms.
• Monitor sponsor and university reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate with external sponsors regarding reporting, invoicing and contracts.
• Process no-cost extensions, carryovers, rebudgeting, scope changes and other amendments.
• Track progress reports and financial submissions and maintain accurate records.
• Support allocation and accounting for research staff and students.
• Coordinate procurement, resourcing, financing and contract-management support for research projects.
• Close funded projects in accordance with university procedures.
• Contribute to grant policies, procedures, templates and departmental guidance documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, research administration or a related field is appropriate for the role.
• Relevant experience in grants, contracts, research finance or sponsored-program administration.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, reporting and documentation skills.
• Understanding of sponsor regulations and institutional research-finance processes.
• Ability to work with faculty, sponsors and cross-functional university teams.
