Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Mathematics

Job Overview

Khalifa University's Mathematics Department is seeking teaching-focused faculty at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. The position supports rigorous, student-centered undergraduate mathematics education across foundational and service courses for engineering, computing and science programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate mathematics courses.
• Develop and maintain syllabi, course materials, assessments and instructional resources.
• Deliver clear and engaging instruction to students with varied mathematical backgrounds.
• Contribute to coordinated multi-section courses and consistent academic standards.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Provide office hours, tutoring, advising and other academic support.
• Use appropriate instructional technology and computational tools such as Python where relevant.
• Contribute to curriculum review, course development, outreach, student success and academic service.

Typical Teaching Areas

• Calculus and differential equations.
• Linear algebra.
• Probability and statistics.
• Discrete mathematics.
• Mathematics courses supporting engineering, computing and science programs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education or a closely related discipline.
• Lecturer candidates should demonstrate strong mathematical preparation, communication and potential for excellent university teaching.
• Senior Lecturer candidates should demonstrate substantial university-level teaching experience, assessment excellence and experience in course coordination, curriculum development or educational leadership.
• Familiarity with instructional technologies and computational tools is desirable.
• Strong collegiality, reliability and commitment to undergraduate education.
