Assistant / Associate Professor – Mathematics

Job Overview

Khalifa University's Mathematics Department is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to strengthen its research and teaching activities. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent research program, contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, supervise graduate students and participate in academic service.

Priority Research Areas

• Computational and applied mathematics.
• Partial differential equations, numerical analysis and scientific computing.
• Inverse problems and mathematical imaging.
• Optimization and operations research.
• Probability, statistics and uncertainty quantification.
• Mathematical foundations of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Financial mathematics, quantitative finance and risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a visible, independent research program.
• Publish research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses.
• Contribute to course and curriculum development and assessment.
• Supervise graduate students and support research training.
• Participate in departmental, university and professional service.
• Support knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary applications and innovation where relevant.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related discipline.
• Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate strong research achievements for career stage and potential for teaching and graduate supervision.
• Associate Professor candidates should demonstrate a sustained research record, graduate supervision, academic leadership and research-funding or collaboration experience.
• Strong mathematical depth, research integrity, mentoring and communication skills.
