Description
The Design Engineer – Structural develops and reviews structural solutions for projects in Dubai. The position translates project requirements into calculations, drawings and technical documentation that support safe, practical and economical construction. The engineer coordinates with other design disciplines and responds to technical comments as the design moves toward approval and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural design calculations, drawings and technical notes for assigned project elements.
- Review design criteria, loading information, project specifications and applicable codes.
- Coordinate structural interfaces with architecture, civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Check drawings and calculations for accuracy, consistency and constructability.
- Respond to technical review comments and update design documentation as required.
- Support project teams with construction-stage queries and clarification of design intent.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is suitable for this role.
- Experience in structural design or engineering consultancy is beneficial.
- The candidate should understand structural analysis, design principles and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with relevant design codes and engineering software is valuable.
- Good technical writing, coordination and problem-solving skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
The engineer should have strong analytical ability, attention to detail and a clear understanding of how structural design decisions affect construction. Accurate calculations, drawing coordination and timely response to review comments are important. The role also calls for good communication and a methodical approach to engineering quality.
