Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Specialist/Manager to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and programs across multiple projects. The role ensures compliance with local and international regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and protects the well-being of all employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Program Development
- Support the development, review, and update of OHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure continuous improvement of safety standards through proactive monitoring and analysis.
- Advisory & Training
- Advise and instruct employees and management on safety-related topics (e.g., noise levels, use of machinery, protective equipment).
- Initiate and deliver OHS training sessions for employees and executives.
- Represent the company on HSE matters in client-facing platforms and meetings.
- Risk Assessment & Compliance
- Conduct risk assessments, enforce preventive measures, and oversee safe installations, maintenance, and disposal of substances.
- Conduct frequent site inspections, identify unsafe acts/conditions, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Stop unsafe acts or processes that could pose a danger to workers or the environment.
- Incident Management
- Record, investigate, and analyse incidents to determine root causes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Handle worker’s compensation claims in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare detailed safety reports, statistical data, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through strong communication, reporting, and engagement.
- Special Focus Areas
- Apply safety knowledge in projects related to lighting and solar works.
- Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance at both local and international levels.
Requirements
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field (Master’s degree desirable).
- NEBOSH IGC (mandatory).
- Minimum 6+ years of experience working in a multi-project environment.
- Strong knowledge of OHS regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and risk assessment software.
- Strong presentation, training, and reporting skills.
- Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead, train, and influence project teams and clients on safety matters.
- Valid Driving License (mandatory).
