Description
Monitor global energy and hydrocarbon markets and turn market data into useful forecasts and commercial advice. The specialist tracks supply-demand balances, price movements, competitor activity and regional developments to help sales and trading teams understand market direction and make informed pricing decisions. This full-time opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with duties and stakeholder interfaces shaped by the assigned function and asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse information from reputable news agencies, government databases, market publications and third-party information providers.
- Track market supply and demand, regional flows, competitor actions and trading practices affecting relevant petroleum products.
- Prepare regular daily, weekly and monthly reports covering crude, condensates, refined products, gas, sulphur, olefins and aromatics as assigned.
- Develop market outlooks, trend forecasts and pricing-strategy inputs for sales and trading teams.
- Prepare presentations for senior management and business-line teams and participate in meetings with industry experts and external consultants.
- Maintain an up-to-date view of market conditions and communicate material changes that may affect commercial plans.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of sales and marketing experience within the oil and gas industry, including technical sales, customer relations, account management and business development.
- Ability to work with market information, interpret data and present clear conclusions is important.
- The role is primarily office-based and involves regular use of computers and market-analysis information.
