Description
Emarat is seeking an IT Security and System Administration Specialist to maintain core infrastructure and support secure, reliable technology services. The role covers database platforms, cloud infrastructure, server and storage services, operational troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with networking, desktop, and application support teams. The successful candidate will help keep systems available, supported, and aligned with approved technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, and maintain server and database management infrastructure in line with operating requirements and approved standards.
- Administer Oracle, Microsoft, and open-source database platforms together with Oracle and Microsoft cloud IaaS/PaaS services.
- Monitor system health, capacity, availability, patching, and operational issues; coordinate timely resolution under agreed service levels.
- Provide second-level technical support to the help desk and other technology teams for infrastructure-related incidents and requests.
- Coordinate with storage, networking, desktop, and application teams to keep business systems stable and accessible.
- Review emerging technologies and proof-of-concept results, then prepare clear findings to support management decisions.
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, technical standards, and service records while following security and IT service-management practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent industry experience.
- Around 3–5 years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing database, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.
- Relevant professional certification in Oracle, Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, or another recognized infrastructure technology is expected.
- Oracle OCI, Microsoft SQL Server, ITIL, Linux, Azure, or AWS credentials are useful advantages where relevant.
- Ability to document technical work clearly, prioritize incidents, and communicate with cross-functional support teams.

- Structured troubleshooting, incident follow-up, and attention to service-level commitments.
- Clear technical documentation and disciplined handling of system changes.
