Restaurant Manager – Chinese Cuisine

Shangri-La Group is recruiting a Restaurant Manager for Shang Palace, its Chinese cuisine outlet at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations and delivering an authentic Chinese dining experience that meets luxury hospitality standards. The manager will lead the service team, support revenue performance and work closely with culinary and beverage colleagues.

The position combines operational leadership, guest relations, financial control and team development. The successful candidate should understand Chinese cuisine, dining etiquette and service practices and be able to create a polished guest experience while maintaining efficient outlet operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Shang Palace and ensure smooth, professional restaurant service.
• Lead, coach and develop restaurant colleagues to maintain luxury Chinese dining standards.
• Monitor revenue, food and beverage costs, inventory and other financial performance indicators.
• Build strong guest relationships, respond to feedback and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Coordinate with Culinary and Beverage teams to maintain food quality, consistency and operational efficiency.
• Plan staffing, briefings, training and service activities according to business requirements.
• Monitor guest preferences and support initiatives that encourage repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, brand and hotel operating standards.

Requirements

• Relevant hospitality management, food and beverage or restaurant qualification is preferred.
• Strong restaurant-management experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end Chinese restaurant.
• Excellent knowledge of Chinese cuisine, culture, dining etiquette and service expectations.
• Strong leadership, guest-relations, communication and commercial skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, costs, inventory and service performance.
• Fluency in Chinese and English is advantageous for this role.

Additional Role Focus
