Description

The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for independent assessment, monitoring and control of credit risk across an assigned portfolio. The position supports informed credit decisions, asset-quality management and risk governance while aligning facilities with internal policies, risk parameters and UAE Central Bank requirements. The role reviews credit proposals, analyzes financial statements, monitors portfolio performance and works with Relationship Managers and Risk teams on business and credit matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the assigned credit portfolio with focus on asset quality and risk-parameter compliance.
  • Review and approve credit proposals within delegated authority and recommend higher-value cases to senior committees.
  • Perform detailed credit analysis, including financial-statement review and risk assessment.
  • Ensure credit facilities comply with internal policies and applicable UAE Central Bank requirements.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify early-warning indicators requiring corrective action.
  • Work with Relationship Managers and Risk teams to support sound business decisions.
  • Support audits and regulatory reviews and contribute to credit-policy and process improvements.
  • Maintain strong documentation and decision records for governance and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • At least six years of banking experience with strong Corporate Credit exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of credit-risk and financial-statement analysis and lending frameworks.
  • Familiarity with UAE Central Bank regulations and banking compliance standards.
  • CFA, CA or CPA certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and stakeholder-management skills.
