Description
The Global Senior Manager for Automation Platform defines and governs the technology foundations used to deliver automation across DP World terminals. The role establishes a consistent, secure and scalable IT/OT architecture that can support different terminal environments while allowing solutions to be configured to local operational needs. The platform connects automated equipment, robotics, control systems, data services and digital applications. The manager works with technology, engineering, operations and external partners to set standards, evaluate solutions and guide implementation across multiple sites. The role requires strong architectural judgement and an understanding of industrial environments where reliability, safety, cybersecurity and interoperability are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain target architecture, reference designs and platform standards for automation across a global terminal network.
- Guide integration of autonomous equipment, robotics, control systems, operational data and terminal applications.
- Evaluate and govern technologies such as PLCs, SCADA, IIoT, edge computing, private 5G, digital twins and OT security solutions.
- Build platform roadmaps and product ownership practices that balance standardisation with configuration for individual terminals.
- Work with regional teams, system integrators and technology partners to manage architecture decisions, deliverables and quality.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, interoperability, cybersecurity, maintainability and operational resilience.
- Act as a technical authority, resolve architecture issues and support adoption of common platform capabilities across sites.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least ten years of experience in IT/OT architecture, industrial automation or control systems.
- Experience designing or governing architectures across multiple sites or complex live industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, control systems, SCADA, IIoT, edge networks and system integration.
- Experience in platform or product management and working with vendors or system integrators.
