Description
This role offers a structured developmental opportunity for new trainees within the CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) environment over a two-year period. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience across various functions, including Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP), Systems, Reliability, Warranty, Propulsion, Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), short- and long-term maintenance planning, Technical Records, Technical Library, Logistics, Rotable Management, and participation in special projects.
The trainee will also learn how to evaluate and manage Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs), translating technical data into practical, business-oriented control measures to support airline operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to development engineers and other CAMO staff in assisting Line Maintenance, Hangar, MCC, and related CAMO departments. Responsibilities include performance analysis, request evaluation, reporting, and supporting corrective actions and modifications.
- Complete a structured training program as set out by the Air Arabia Training Manager and Head of Engineering.
- Use collected data to conduct, under supervision, technical root cause analyses and assist in identifying aircraft efficiency and maintenance needs.
- Analyze technical and performance reports under guidance to detect trends, propose solutions, and recommend proactive modifications.
- Support the identification of corrective actions and modifications for airworthiness issues. Recommend AMP changes with justification and supporting documentation.
- Assist in reviewing technical documentation, in line with TPM section 5, related to the implementation of repairs and modifications, subject to CAMO management approval.
- Gain exposure and training across different CAMO areas including Projects, Warranty, and other technical departments.
- Contribute to the closure of occurrence reports under supervision.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, conferences, and industry-related events.
- Engage in continuous learning and development, completing training as required by the Training Manager and Head of Engineering.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent (LAE preferred); alternatively, a higher diploma or certification from a recognized university or college with relevant experience.
- Proficient in the use of technology and software tools; familiarity with Microsoft Office, MRO systems, and web-based research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Very good command of the English language.
Work Experience
- 2 to 5 years of academic training in aviation or a related technical discipline.
- Understanding of CAMO functions and airworthiness program requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning systems and their integration with maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with Civil Aviation Authority regulations, preferably GCAA, and an understanding of engineering policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Basic knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part 21, and Subpart M regulations.
- Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and results-oriented skills.
- Exposure to Flight Operations is considered an advantage.
- Cost-conscious with sound problem-solving abilities.
- Able to apply technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to support organizational goals.
