Shift Manager – Line Maintenance

Job Overview

Support the line-maintenance manager in leading daily maintenance activities on company and third-party aircraft. The shift manager ensures work is completed, certified and documented on time while meeting applicable GCAA requirements, company procedures and safety standards. The role also coordinates staffing, equipment and task priorities so that maintenance resources are used effectively and aircraft remain available for operation.

The position works closely with operational colleagues and other departments to resolve issues, keep records complete and meet agreed deadlines. A practical approach, consistent procedures and attention to quality help maintain reliable day-to-day airline operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the shift maintenance plan and allocate staff according to aircraft work and operational priorities.
• Monitor scheduled and unscheduled tasks to ensure work progresses safely and efficiently.
• Check that maintenance records, certifications and handovers are completed to the required standard.
• Support technicians and engineers with work sequencing, technical coordination and escalation of issues.
• Monitor resource availability and arrange timely support to address operational changes.
• Promote compliance with safety procedures, regulatory requirements and company maintenance standards.

Requirements

• Applicants should have experience in aircraft line maintenance and team or shift coordination.
• The role requires an understanding of maintenance certification, documentation and applicable regulatory standards.
• Candidates should be capable of making timely decisions in a time-sensitive operational setting.
• Experience allocating manpower and monitoring work completion is beneficial.

Qualifications

• A relevant aircraft-maintenance qualification and applicable licence or authorisation are appropriate to the duties.
• Aircraft-type training and knowledge of GCAA requirements are advantageous.
• Candidates should have experience with technical records and maintenance handover processes.
