Description
The Cadet Technician Programme is a two-year pathway for UAE Nationals entering aircraft maintenance. It combines approved technical study with supervised on-the-job training, preparing successful cadets to progress towards licensed Aircraft Technician status across a range of aircraft types.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the approved aircraft-maintenance training syllabus and required GCAA training programme modules.
- Maintain an overall pass rate of at least 75% across module examinations within the stipulated timeframes.
- Meet the performance requirements established by the training institute, the company and the applicable aviation authority.
- Complete supervised practical training within the timeline assigned after the theoretical qualification stage.
- Record assigned tasks accurately in the work schedule and logbook.
- Attend and pass mandatory training and technical competency assessments.
- Carry out assigned work safely, follow approved maintenance data and comply with company, airport, health and safety procedures.
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes, maintenance procedures and current technical practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- UAE National with a valid family book.
- Age between 18 and 29 years.
- High-school certificate or equivalent, including Mathematics, Physics or Science, with an overall score of at least 60%.
- Strong command of English.
- Male applicants must have completed UAE National Service or hold a permanent exemption.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, and to work outdoors when required.
- Commitment to completing the programme and meeting training and safety standards.
Programme Outcome and Skills
Successful cadets work towards the GCAA Category A licence, aircraft-maintenance certification authorisation and progression to licensed Aircraft Technician status. Attention to detail, safe working habits, learning agility and reliable documentation are essential.
