Job Purpose

As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for acquiring, managing, and growing a portfolio of High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients across both offshore and onshore booking centers. You will provide comprehensive wealth management solutions tailored to clients’ complex financial needs, helping FAB achieve its Private Banking strategic goals while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Build and manage a portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients and family offices, both regionally and internationally.
  • Grow client base through proactive prospecting, referrals, and leveraging professional and internal networks.
  • Act as the trusted advisor for clients, delivering tailored wealth management, fiduciary, and investment solutions.
  • Maintain high-touch, 24/7 relationship coverage, ensuring superior service across all client interactions.

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive growth in Assets Under Management (AUM) and revenue in line with pre-agreed targets.
  • Promote both offshore (e.g., Switzerland) and onshore (UAE) offerings across Private Banking’s core pillars: Banking, Fiduciary (Trusts, Foundations), and Portfolio Management (Execution, Advisory, Discretionary).
  • Cross-sell FAB’s full suite of services including Investment Banking, Treasury, and other group solutions.

Client Advisory & Solutions

  • Provide bespoke investment advice based on client risk appetite, financial goals, and market dynamics.
  • Spot market opportunities and proactively propose solutions, including structured products, alternative investments, and bespoke lending.
  • Ensure client portfolios are diversified and regularly reviewed unless otherwise instructed.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Conduct full KYC, AML, OFAC, and PEP checks as per international private banking standards.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Monitor and manage client credit facilities, leverage, interest charges, and maturities.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to deliver seamless client service.
  • Supervise and mentor RM support staff and manage local Private Banking office administration as needed.
  • Lead or contribute to product development initiatives and marketing campaigns.

Key Projects & Initiatives

  • Champion initiatives that improve cross-selling, client experience, and operational excellence.
  • Lead or support strategic projects (e.g., product launches, system enhancements, or market development).
  • Serve as local office lead in the absence of business heads, on a rotational basis.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Marketing from a reputable institution.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate degree/certification (e.g., CFA, CAIA, or accounting background) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in private banking or wealth management, with demonstrated success in business development and relationship management.
  • Proven track record in managing UHNW client portfolios and delivering complex solutions.

Core Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Deep understanding of global private banking products, structures, and markets.
  • Commercially driven with a strong sense of client advocacy and ethical responsibility.
  • Ability to manage sensitive client relationships with discretion, professionalism, and responsiveness.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, competitive, and highly regulated environment.
