Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a team of underwriters and continuously strive to improve productivity and quality by monitoring KPI and sample reviews.
  • Responsible to support for evaluating risk related to all investment product within approved credit policy standards and compliance to agreed LTV Framework.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are available, updated on a timely manner and the team is adhering to the same.
  • Comprehensive Analysis and recommendation of exposure on Investment products clearly outlining key risks (Credit default risk, Market Risk, liquidity risk), mitigations and recommendation to unit head for approval
  • Performance monitoring including oversight the mark to market evaluation and margin monitoring process
  • Ensure accurate capacity planning, resource utilization, training and back up creations are available within the team so that assigned activities are performed according to agreed SLAs and there is no impact to smooth BAU functioning.
  • Assist the Head of Initiation in monitoring risk and market trends, to suggest amendments in policies to minimize risk and improve quality.
  • Ensure that the unit achieves an acceptable risk rating in all internal and external audits.
  • Regular monitoring of portfolio composition and concentration, ongoing monitoring of approved products against peak exposure and risk triggers along with providing accurate Portfolio MI and focused written reports.
  • Implement and monitor MIS & KPI reports for team performance to highlight team productivity, error rates, approval, decline, adherence to SLA.
  • Support all IT projects for the department for future automation to create efficiency and enhanced governance and facilitate UAT within agreed timelines.
  • Develop and enhance the technical and behavioral competencies of the team by assigning relevant trainings. Coach, train and develop skillset of staff within the team.
  • Act as a business enabler and provide solutions to onboard and retain quality clientele, enhancing the portfolio health.
  • Take appropriate decision within delegated authority, regulatory guidelines and sharia principles while approving / recommending credit proposals for higher escalation,
  • Incorporate and comply with the bank's core values especially the Customer First in day to-day activities.
  • Document department processes related to credit evaluation and monitoring of eligible Investment products. MIS generation and updating the same at regular interval.
  • Contribute to improving the work environment for the department. Perform cross functional resource allocation within unit as and when needed (synergies).

Work Experience:

  • 8+ Years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with good understanding in credit concepts and practices for the wealth and private banking Industry. Experienced on managing IT projects for Wealth Management Business.

Education:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance/ Statistics/ Commerce preferred. Post-Graduate is highly desirable – MBA/ Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
