Description
The Financial Controller is a senior finance leader based in Dubai, reporting to the Regional Finance Director. The position leads day-to-day finance operations across the region and has responsibility for financial control, reporting and finance systems. It supports business growth by providing reliable financial information, strengthening governance and helping operational leaders understand performance, risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting, working capital, cost-of-sales and ERP teams while encouraging accountability and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate financial reporting across entities and oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
- Review management accounts, balance sheets, cash-flow reports and compliance with accounting and statutory requirements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning, providing analysis to support management decisions.
- Monitor project profitability, forecasts, margins, commercial exposure and financial risks with operational teams.
- Oversee finance-system governance, data quality, process automation and ERP improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- Possess a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or an equivalent credential.
- Bring significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance position.
- Have experience leading accounting and finance teams in a multi-entity organisation.
- Demonstrate strong financial control, technical accounting and reporting knowledge; project-based business experience is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
The position requires financial leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to explain complex results in a clear, practical way. Strong forecasting, budgeting, controls, ERP governance and stakeholder-management skills are essential. The successful candidate should be confident challenging assumptions, improving processes and supporting senior decisions with accurate financial insight.
