The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a retail store, including sales, profitability, service standards, stock control and team effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Manage store performance against sales, profit, stock and service targets, reviewing results and following up on gaps.
- Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale transactions, store administration and the accurate completion of operational records.
- Monitor stock movement, ageing and availability, and coordinate appropriate action on slow-moving, fast-moving and non-moving products.
- Maintain attractive windows, displays and selling areas in line with the brand’s visual merchandising and promotional guidelines.
- Review customer feedback and complaints, resolve issues fairly and implement corrective action in line with company procedures.
- Recruit, coach and develop team members, communicate priorities, review performance and plan staffing for seasonal peaks.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Relevant experience in retail operations and the ability to take responsibility for day-to-day store performance.
- Commercial understanding of sales, profitability, stock management, customer service and local trading conditions.
- Ability to guide teams, allocate resources and maintain service standards during busy trading periods.
- A consistent approach to cash security, company assets, health and safety and compliance with established procedures.
Required Skills
