Post Doctoral Fellow

This position contributes to research and academic development through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct independent research within an agreed project, review relevant literature, develop methods, analyse results and interpret findings. Work with the principal investigator and research colleagues to meet milestones, maintain accurate records, follow research integrity and safety requirements, and contribute to manuscripts, reports, presentations and funding-related outputs. Depending on the project, the fellow may support student supervision, laboratory or computational activities, interdisciplinary collaboration and dissemination of results. The role requires initiative and the ability to manage several research tasks while maintaining quality and reproducibility.

Requirements and Qualifications

A completed PhD in the relevant discipline or a closely related field is normally required. Applicants should demonstrate research experience aligned with the project, evidence of analytical ability and a record of scholarly outputs appropriate to career stage. Specific methods, software, laboratory or modelling skills depend on the research area. Clear written and verbal communication, collaboration, time management and adherence to research ethics are essential.
