Research Scientist

This position contributes to scientific research through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute research activities, review scientific literature, select appropriate methods, collect and analyse data, and interpret results in line with project objectives. Maintain research records, operate relevant equipment or software, follow safety and ethical requirements, and contribute to technical reports, publications and presentations. Collaborate with principal investigators, students and external partners, assist with proposals and project planning, and help ensure research outputs are reproducible and delivered on schedule. Responsibilities will reflect the scientific discipline and the needs of the assigned research group.

Requirements and Qualifications

A relevant master’s degree or PhD may be required depending on the research area and level of responsibility; applicants should have training and practical experience aligned with the project. Demonstrated analytical ability, scientific writing, data handling and familiarity with discipline-specific methods are important. Candidates should work independently when needed, collaborate effectively, manage deadlines and follow research integrity, laboratory safety and data-management standards.
