Description
The continuous improvement manager strengthens quality performance by identifying process gaps, analysing root causes and coordinating improvement projects across operations. The role uses audit findings, data and frontline feedback to reduce defects, simplify work, improve compliance and build a culture of measurable, sustained improvement. This position is part of continuous improvement and quality management and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include the following:
- Analyse quality indicators, complaints, audit findings and process performance to identify improvement priorities.
- Lead root-cause investigations and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with process owners.
- Apply structured improvement methods to reduce waste, variation, rework and recurring non-conformities.
- Track project milestones, benefits and control measures, reporting progress to management.
- Coach teams on problem-solving methods and verify that improvements remain effective over time.
A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience in quality management, continuous improvement or manufacturing operations is relevant.
- A degree in engineering, food science, quality or a related discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of root-cause analysis, corrective actions, audits and lean or similar improvement methods is beneficial.
- Candidates should be comfortable interpreting data and influencing cross-functional teams.
Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.
Skills and Competencies
The position requires structured thinking, facilitation, analytical ability and the confidence to challenge ineffective processes constructively. Good documentation and follow-through ensure improvements are measurable, practical and sustained rather than short-lived fixes.
