VP – IT Strategy, Governance & Innovation

flydubai is seeking a senior technology executive to lead IT strategy, governance and innovation while supporting the airline's digital transformation agenda. The VP - IT Strategy, Governance & Innovation will shape the technology operating model, establish strategic priorities and oversee enterprise architecture, portfolio governance, technology partnerships and innovation programmes. The role requires a commercially minded technology leader who can connect business objectives with scalable technology capabilities and build an environment focused on agility, modernization, value and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a rolling three-year IT strategy aligned with corporate objectives, investment priorities and digital ambitions.
• Lead the IT operating model and partner with business leaders on transformation programmes and strategic technology initiatives.
• Establish effective delivery frameworks drawing on ITIL, COBIT, PMI, Scrum, SAFe Agile and DevSecOps principles.
• Identify strategic business use cases and work with technology partners to validate proof-of-value opportunities.
• Lead enterprise architecture practices, standards, reuse and cost optimization while reducing technology debt.
• Oversee IT portfolio governance, investment approvals, project-office performance and delivery against quality, budget and schedule.
• Build strategic relationships with technology providers and strengthen the internal capability for emerging technologies.
• Develop talent programmes, upskilling initiatives and a high-performance culture across IT.
• Drive an innovation ecosystem including an innovation lab, university partnerships, start-ups and accelerators.
• Ensure vendor solutions align with architecture standards and support application modernization and future-ready technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of IT experience, including 10+ years in senior IT leadership.
• Experience in a large multinational organization; airline-sector experience is advantageous.
• Demonstrated success in IT strategy, architecture, portfolio governance and digital transformation.
• Experience leading innovation programmes, strategic partnerships and IT talent development.
• Fluent English with strong strategic thinking, business acumen, decision-making and leadership skills.
