Senior Product Designer

Careem is hiring a Senior Product Designer in Dubai to own design for a major area of its super-app experience. The role goes beyond execution: the designer will help shape product strategy, lead multiple workstreams and influence product, engineering and commercial partners. Careem expects an AI-native design approach, strong evidence-based decision-making and a portfolio demonstrating shipped mobile-first work with measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Own design for a significant feature area from concept through launch and iteration.
• Define and communicate design vision while ensuring experiences improve user outcomes and commercial metrics.
• Work as a strategic partner to product and engineering leads and resolve dependencies proactively.
• Deliver complete interaction details including states, edge cases, dark mode, localization and RTL.
• Use and extend the design system appropriately while making evidence-based exceptions when required.
• Create rapid prototypes, including AI-assisted prototypes, to validate ideas at the right fidelity.
• Conduct user interviews and evaluative research to validate design decisions.
• Use product data to define success measures and improve shipped experiences.
• Present work clearly to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Produce strong written documentation including problem framing, decision records and critiques.
• Operate independently, maintain momentum and identify quality issues beyond the immediate team.

Requirements

• 5+ years designing and shipping impactful digital products at scale.
• Experience leading design for a significant product area in a high-growth environment.
• Strong end-to-end capability in interaction design, visual design, prototyping and design thinking.
• Fluency with design systems and experience contributing to or stress-testing them.
• Daily working familiarity with AI tools for exploration, prototyping, content or research synthesis.
• Experience translating data and research into product-design decisions.
• Strong stakeholder-management, written, verbal and presentation skills.
• A strong mobile-first portfolio with detailed case studies and measurable impact.
• Middle East, Arabic/RTL, super-app or AI-product experience is advantageous.
