Senior Communications Specialist (1-Year Contract – Fixed Term)

Careem is hiring a Senior Communications Specialist in Dubai on a one-year fixed-term contract. The role spans external and internal communications and supports the company narrative across priority markets. Externally, the specialist will help develop strategic stories, manage media relationships and strengthen brand affinity. Internally, the role will contribute to leadership communications, all-hands content and employee campaigns that explain company priorities and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute external and internal communications initiatives aligned with Careem's mission, services and business priorities.
• Manage media relationships, press outreach, press release development and journalist engagement across priority markets.
• Support leadership emails, all-hands communications, organizational announcements and employee campaigns.
• Work with Product, Marketing, Policy, People and other functions to maintain consistent messaging.
• Support crisis communications and reputation-management activities with senior leadership.
• Track media coverage and internal engagement and prepare regular effectiveness reports.
• Support executive visibility through media interviews, speaking opportunities, authored content and leadership moments.
• Develop clear narratives around Careem's services including mobility, food delivery, payments and quick commerce.
• Coordinate with teams across the UAE, KSA, Egypt, Pakistan and Jordan.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in communications, public relations or journalism.
• Experience in a high-growth technology company or leading PR agency is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans across multiple markets.
• Excellent writing, storytelling and editorial skills.
• Strong media-network and relationship-management capabilities, particularly in MENA.
• Ability to manage several projects in a fast-moving environment.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
