Principal Enterprise Architect

The Principal Enterprise Architect shapes the organization’s long-term technology direction and ensures that platforms, data, systems and digital initiatives support business priorities. The role sets architecture guardrails and governance practices that reduce complexity, manage risk and enable future growth. It advises business and technology leaders, drives modernization and promotes reusable, secure designs across enterprise domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Define enterprise technology roadmaps and align architecture decisions with business capabilities, strategic objectives and future expansion plans.
• Provide governance and architecture leadership across domains, influencing business and IT teams and guiding major solution decisions.
• Maintain architecture roadmaps, health-check scorecards and solution-review processes to identify gaps and measure progress.
• Lead assessments of existing systems, identify audit or capability gaps, and recommend practical modernization, simplification and optimization initiatives.
• Prepare clear findings, implementation recommendations and reports, and collaborate across business, technology, data, security and platform teams.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong experience in enterprise systems, architecture strategy, technology planning and large-scale solution implementation.
• Be comfortable converting business needs into conceptual, logical and executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes.
• Have experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders, establishing standards and resolving architecture trade-offs.
• Understand system governance, risk management, portfolio planning and the modernization of technology assets.
• Communicate complex technical ideas clearly and support innovation, including appropriate AI-enabled design, without duplicating existing enterprise capabilities.
