Lab Engineer- Computer and Information Engineering- UAE National

Job Overview

Khalifa University is seeking a UAE National Lab Engineer to support teaching and research laboratories in Computer and Information Engineering. The position works closely with faculty and students in areas such as robotics and artificial intelligence, ensuring equipment is ready, experiments are well prepared, laboratory procedures are documented, and work is performed safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations in assigned computer and information engineering laboratories and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Prepare experiments, demonstrations, equipment, and learning materials in line with faculty requirements.
• Calibrate, maintain, inspect, and monitor equipment so that laboratory activities can proceed reliably.
• Guide students on correct equipment use and reinforce laboratory safety procedures during practical work.
• Consult with faculty about course needs, student projects, and improvements to experimental procedures.
• Maintain equipment inventories, track usage and budgets, and report damaged equipment or operational concerns.
• Follow institutional quality, safety, security, and confidentiality procedures and report risks promptly.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics and AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required.
• One to two years of relevant laboratory or technical experience is expected; strong fresh graduates with a master’s degree may be considered.
• Applicants must meet the UAE National eligibility requirement stated for this position.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety and technical equipment is important; willingness to learn new tools is expected.
• Good organization, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration with faculty and students are essential.
