Lab Engineer – Additive Manufacturing & Reverse Engineering Laboratory – UAEN

Job Overview

Khalifa University is hiring a Lab Engineer for its Additive Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering Laboratory, with hiring priority for UAE Nationals under its training programme. The engineer will support research and prototyping using metal and polymer 3D printing, scanning technologies, and design-to-prototype workflows while keeping laboratory services reliable, accessible, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and manage additive-manufacturing systems, including metal and polymer 3D printers used for research and prototyping.
• Operate 3D scanners and support reverse-engineering workflows that convert physical objects into digital models.
• Assist users with design-to-prototype processes, equipment setup, printing preparation, and basic workflow troubleshooting.
• Support the development of laboratory capabilities in line with research, teaching, and project requirements.
• Maintain equipment, monitor performance, organize consumables, and help evaluate new printing and scanning technologies.
• Manage laboratory inventory, booking systems, user access, and accurate records of resources and services.
• Promote safe equipment use, keep the laboratory organized, and follow institutional procedures and reporting requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required.
• Hiring priority is given to UAE Nationals as part of the university’s national training programme.
• Experience with 3D printing, scanning, prototyping, or reverse-engineering tools is relevant to the role.
• Candidates should be methodical, safety-conscious, cooperative, and willing to learn new technologies.
