General Mechanical Supervisor

The Engineering Coordinator supports planned maintenance and day-to-day engineering operations by organising work orders, coordinating technicians and keeping maintenance records accurate. The role helps the engineering team respond promptly to service requests, maintain building systems and equipment, and complete work in line with safety and operational standards. The successful candidate is expected to approach assigned work professionally, follow established procedures and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. Work should be completed carefully, with issues raised early rather than left unresolved.

Key Responsibilities

• Help ensure engineering activities follow site procedures, safe-work practices and relevant quality requirements.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, allocate service requests and follow up open work orders until completion.
• Communicate with technicians, department representatives and approved contractors to organise access, materials and work priorities.
• Maintain accurate logs for inspections, equipment servicing, defects, spare parts and corrective maintenance actions.
• Monitor outstanding faults, escalate urgent breakdowns and provide updates on work progress and expected completion.
• Support stock checks and purchasing requests for maintenance consumables, tools and replacement parts.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification or practical experience in engineering, facilities maintenance or a related discipline is beneficial.
• Experience coordinating work orders, maintenance records or technical service activities is an advantage.
• Ability to organise multiple requests, meet deadlines and communicate clearly with different teams.
• Comfort using email, spreadsheets, maintenance systems and standard office tools for record keeping.
• Commitment to safety, accurate reporting and respectful collaboration with colleagues and contractors.
