Bits Welder

NOV is seeking a Bits Welder in Dubai to support drill-bit manufacturing operations through welding, hard-facing, brazing, fabrication and grinding activities. The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, safely set up welding equipment and produce work that meets manufacturing, quality and HSE requirements. The welder will work within established production procedures and may support different shifts or operational areas when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and MIG welding, hard-facing, brazing and other approved welding processes.
• Read and follow technical drawings, engineering specifications and manufacturing instructions.
• Assemble components accurately according to drawings and established procedures.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment to achieve proper alignment and quality.
• Safely lift, position and secure workpieces during welding operations.
• Obtain required setup approval from senior operators or supervisors before production work.
• Use standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques to verify completed work.
• Perform manual grinding and approved hot-work activities.
• Carry out operator-level equipment maintenance and keep the workplace clean.
• Follow NOV quality, HSE and operational requirements and support other shifts or weekend work when needed.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Metal Fabrication or Welding Processes, or relevant vocational training.
• Approximately 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous production, fabrication or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings and schematics.
• Experience with manual grinding and shop-floor practices.
• Good English communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of quality and HSE requirements.
