AC Technician

This technical role helps keep building services and equipment safe, functional and reliable. The technician inspects reported faults, completes repairs within their competence, supports preventive maintenance and records the work performed. The position requires practical troubleshooting, careful use of tools and a strong commitment to safe working methods. The successful candidate is expected to approach assigned work professionally, follow established procedures and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. Work should be completed carefully, with issues raised early rather than left unresolved.

Key Responsibilities

• Test repaired equipment, confirm safe operation and report any remaining defects that require specialist attention.
• Record work completed, materials used, recurring faults and follow-up actions in the relevant maintenance log.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades when tasks require isolation, access arrangements or specialist support.
• Maintain tools and work areas in an orderly condition and follow applicable permit, isolation and safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment and building systems to identify faults, wear, leaks, electrical issues or other maintenance needs.
• Carry out assigned repair and preventive-maintenance tasks using approved procedures, tools and technical documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Technical training, trade certification or relevant hands-on experience in the applicable maintenance discipline is desirable.
• Ability to understand instructions, use tools correctly and follow maintenance procedures carefully.
• Awareness of workplace safety, equipment isolation and the need to report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Dependable attendance, practical judgement and willingness to work with a maintenance team.
• Ability to document completed work and communicate faults in clear, straightforward language.
