Description
- Supervise, train, and manage the maintenance team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assign and schedule maintenance tasks while monitoring progress and quality
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all hotel equipment and facilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues promptly
- Oversee emergency repairs to minimize guest disruption and maintain operations
- Maintain the hotel’s physical environment, ensuring all facilities are clean, safe, and functional
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, hotel policies, and local laws
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
- Coordinate and manage external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring availability when needed
- Manage maintenance department budgets and control costs effectively
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
- Report maintenance status, challenges, and upcoming needs to hotel management
- Coordinate with other hotel departments to schedule maintenance with minimal guest impact
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently
- Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce costs
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification
- Proven experience (usually 3-5 years) in maintenance supervision, preferably in the hospitality industry or luxury hotels
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and elevators
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple departments and vendors
- Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of local safety codes, labor laws, and environmental regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations efficiently
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and guest satisfaction
