Description
Job Purpose
To deliver safe, evidence-based, age-specific, and compassionate care to patients within the IVF clinic. The role involves direct and indirect nursing care across the healthcare continuum, including patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and coordination. All practices must comply with Joint Commission International (JCI) standards and patient safety goals.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Practice
- Deliver direct, age-specific patient-centered care using the nursing process.
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused assessments relevant to patient needs.
- Provide ongoing critical care assessments addressing physical and psychological needs of patients and their families.
- Engage patients and their significant others in care plans when appropriate.
- Develop and revise individualized care plans and clinical pathways in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Prioritize and coordinate care for IVF patients including pre- and post-procedure management.
- Recognize early signs of complications and act appropriately to mitigate risks.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately document all relevant assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records in line with hospital standards.
- Maintain proper logs for medications, particularly narcotics/controlled substances as per policies.
- Report incidents, medication errors, and customer complaints according to CQI guidelines.
Professionalism & Compliance
- Abide by hospital policies and JCI accreditation requirements, including infection control, patient safety, and fire safety protocols.
- Ensure safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in unit meetings, projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend and complete all required hospital education (e.g. BLS, fire training, infection control).
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, embryologists, anesthetists, and allied health professionals in the IVF care process.
- Provide support for clerical duties and ensure equipment and supply availability.
- Guide and support new nurses or interns as needed.
Competency & Development
- Maintain annual clinical competency in IVF nursing and general nursing practices.
- Participate in training, workshops, and ongoing education to ensure current knowledge of best practices.
- Complete yearly nursing competencies including pain management and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3 years full-time course), or
- Two-year Nursing diploma (minimum duration) with active registration from recognized countries: Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
Licensure & Certification
- Must hold a valid professional license/registration to practice nursing in home or last employment country.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (additional certifications may be required depending on role).
For UAE Nationals
- Exempt from experience and post-graduate clinical training requirements.
- Must provide UAE birth certificate and copy of mother’s family book.
For Non-UAE Nationals (Graduates of UAE Universities)

Must complete 6 months of clinical training in an accredited UAE healthcare facility, unless applying for Registered Nurse or Assistant Nurse titles.
