Practical Nurse – STMC – Emergency

We are looking for a compassionate and diligent Practical Nurse to deliver age-appropriate care aligned with the regulatory nursing scope of practice. Under the supervision of Registered Nurses, the Practical Nurse is responsible for supporting patient care, upholding clinical excellence, and contributing to health education and organizational development within SEHA’s standards and values.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

• Assist in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with unit policies
• Maintain high standards of evidence-based nursing care under RN supervision
• Support daily patient activities such as hygiene and meal distribution as per care plans
• Monitor and report medication side effects and patient condition changes promptly
• Respond appropriately to emergencies following facility protocols

Communication & Collaboration

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of care delivery
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Promote collaborative care models and support new staff and students
• Maintain confidentiality in all patient and organizational matters
• Utilize information systems responsibly for documentation and care coordination

Risk Management & Quality

• Maintain a safe and secure clinical environment
• Identify and report risks or incidents promptly
• Comply with infection control policies to reduce healthcare-associated infections
• Support implementation of quality assurance standards and patient safety goals

Education & Health Promotion

• Assess and support patient and family education needs
• Deliver health promotion activities within the clinic and community
• Ensure resources are available for informed patient decision-making

Professional Development

• Support orientation of new staff and promote continuous learning
• Complete mandatory and unit-specific competencies
• Develop and maintain a professional learning plan and portfolio
• Participate in nursing research and improvement initiatives
• Uphold organizational customer service standards and contribute to team growth

📋 Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in an appropriate post-graduate setting
• Recognized practical nursing qualification
• Understanding and compliance with Abu Dhabi Nurses Code of Conduct
