Key Responsibilities

1. Psychological Assessment & Diagnosis
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify cognitive, emotional, developmental, and learning difficulties in children and adolescents.
  • Utilize standardized psychological tools and techniques to evaluate intellectual functioning, academic achievement, behavior, and socio-emotional development.
2. Intervention Planning & Implementation
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and tailored intervention strategies based on assessment findings.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
3. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
  • Work closely with pediatricians, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and educators.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated care.
4. Counseling & Family Support
  • Provide individual and family counseling to support emotional and behavioral well-being.
  • Educate and empower families to manage psychological and educational challenges effectively.
5. Education & Training
  • Organize and deliver workshops and in-service training sessions for hospital staff, teachers, and parents on child development, learning disorders, and psychological well-being.
  • Support the hospital’s commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
6. Research & Evidence-Based Practice
  • Stay current with developments in educational psychology, incorporating new research findings into clinical practice.
  • Contribute to research initiatives and publications where appropriate.
7. Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in psychological service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Licensure: Valid license or eligibility for licensure as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of relevant experience in educational psychology, preferably in a clinical, hospital, or multidisciplinary setting.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological assessments.
    • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
  • Language:
    • Fluency in English is required.
    • Arabic language skills are an advantage.
